Become a contributor: Write a guest post

Write a travel article and become a guest blogger!

Thank you for your interest in submitting a guest post and becoming a writer on The Travel Bunny! Read this page to learn about the travel blog, my audience, and everything else you should keep in mind when submitting a guest post.

A bit of background information

The Travel Bunny is a travel blog focusing on budget travel in Europe and beyond.

It offers unique travel guides and awesome insider tips. In addition, it shares travel experiences with valuable information for its readers.

The best way to learn about what type of materials The Travel Bunny publishes is to simply browse the blog. Our articles are meant for people who are looking for travel inspiration. However, most of them don’t have a lot of money to spend or a lot of time to plan their travels.

Who can write a guest post on The Travel Bunny

The Travel Bunny is open to all contributors interested in a guest post. However, only fellow bloggers benefit from the option of publishing a free guest post on The Travel Bunny Travel Blog. I consider it’s always good to give back to the community and to support bloggers like myself.

If you are not a travel blogger, please check Press, Trade & Advertising opportunities.

About the accepted types of content

When you submit your guest post, please note that:

  • Your guest post can be an opinion piece, a how-to article, or a list-type article.
  • It can’t be a native ad or anything sales-focused.
  • The article must be an original piece, which has never been published before.
  • You will have to focus on a city/country/area or a topic on which to advise others. Should you choose the first option, try to include some off-the-beaten-path tips and some events.

The Travel Bunny aims to publish up to two guest posts per month, on a first-come, first-served basis. More travel guest posts can be published, however, when we are busy working on other aspects of The Travel Bunny.

Please note that you will also be required to publish a dofollow link to my blog, besides providing the content for the guest post with a link to your website.

Writing guidelines

Write about 1,200 words of body text about a place or a subject you are very familiar with. Our readers should feel that they are receiving the best advice they can while reading your piece. Try to write your article in an appealing, and friendly way. Imagine my readers as your best friends. Give them the scoop while you’re catching up after the holidays, over a good drink. And show them some great photos, to really let them know where you’re coming from!

For this, you have to provide a high-quality landscape featured image (at least 820x311px). You can also provide one or several images or collages to be used within the article (800×600 px). Though it is recommended to provide several images, it is not mandatory.

The image(s) will also be used for social media posts meant to promote your writing.

Please keep in mind that you must respect copyright laws when submitting both content and images.

Submission guidelines

Please pitch your article at mirela@the-travel-bunny.com.

If your pitch is approved, you will receive a link to a form to submit your guest post. This will help you to provide all the information required and to avoid unnecessary follow-up emails.

Please note that The Travel Bunny reserves the right to edit the article to improve the SEO and to adjust its readability score. Once you send the piece of writing, it becomes the property of The Travel Bunny. Also, though it isn’t nice, this has happened a lot and I need to take some measures against it: if you misrepresent yourself as a fellow travel blogger to get me to accept your article, then sneak in a company or brand link or sales pitch in the content you end up submitting, the article will get published without your link.
