You will be picked up from your hotel in Sofia to start our day trip to Rila Monastery. Arrive at the Rila Monastery within 2 hours. Spend the morning at the Rila Monastery, one of the most famous UNESCO World Heritage sites in the world, a must-see for anyone visiting Bulgaria.
Discover the centuries-old forests of the Rila Mountains on a scenic walk to the cave of St. Ivan Rilski (St. John of Rila). A path will take you through the centuries-old forest of the Rila Monastery Nature Park to the cave where the founder of the monastery lived the last years of his life as a hermit. Escape the crowds of Sofia for a memorable full-day trip to Rila Monastery led by an expert.
Visit the cave and walk back to the monastery for a guided tour and free time to discover the forgotten corners of the UNESCO site. After lunch, the journey continues with a short transfer (approximately 25 minutes) to the village of Stob, where you will have a short walk to the natural phenomenon of the Stob Pyramids. In the late afternoon, we will drop you off at your hotel and our day trip to Rila Monastery will be over.
