Description
Tour of Shkoder in 1 Day
- At 9.00, our tour guide will arrive at your hotel in Tirana to pick you up.
- Shkodra is a city in Albania’s northwestern region that gives its name to the Balkans’ largest lake.
- The Shkodra castle’s oldest wall dates from the first millennium BCE. The town was named after the Illyrian king Gent, who fought the Romans in 168 B.C., according to the Roman historian Livy.
- You’ll have some free time starting at 12.30 to have lunch and roam about until 14.00.
- After that, we’ll go to Rozafa Castle, which has spectacular views of the lake and the three rivers merging into the Adriatic Sea.
- The city’s architecture is heavily influenced by Venetian design, and if you’re lucky enough to join a Shkodra trip in February, you might be able to attend the city’s carnival festival. Most visitors are shocked to hear that the majority of Venetian masks are handcrafted in Shkodra.
- Through the years, the city’s advantageous geographic location has been a major trading mark, allowing different civilizations to meet.
- Shkoder’s Catholic Cathedral will also be visited.
- Our tour of Shkoder will end in the afternoon, when we return to Tirana.
This Tour of Shkoder will have a maximum of 8 travelers.
