Welcome to our Greek taverna, where you will taste mouth-watering traditional Greek food and delicious Greek drinks! Please, sit down at the shaded table over there, it has the most beautiful view of the sea in this area.

My name is Mirela and I will be your waitress today. Here is our menu with all the traditional Greek foods we prepare with local products. At the end you will also find our Greek drinks, from which I strongly recommend the strong Greek coffee. Please have a look, I’ll be right back with some cold water for you.

Variety from Santorini. Citrus-edged white wine. Similar taste to Riesling.

Variety from Santorini, Attica, Macedonia, and Rhodes. Low acidity white wine, with a scent of nectarines.

Variety from the Epirus region. High acidity, leading to sparkling white wines.

Variety from Macedonia. Medium acidity white wine, with a jasmine aroma.

Variety from the Peloponnese. Still or sparkling, with a tangerine, flowery scent.

Variety from the Ionian Islands. Lemony flavor, best paired with fish and seafood.

Variety from the Attica region. Used to produce Retsina, a young white wine, with pine resin.

Pink / Rose wines

Variety from northern Greece. Soft wines, with fruity flavors.

Variety from Attica, Macedonia, Peloponnese, and Thessaly. Crisp, elegant wines.

Red wines

Variety from the Peloponnese region. Velvety-red wines, with black cherry flavors. Similar taste to Beaujolais.

Variety specific to the Island of Lemnos. Strong wines, with bay leaf aroma.

Variety from Peloponnese and the Ionian Islands. Sweet, desert wines, produced from grapes which had been turning into raisins.

Variety from the Macedonia region. Strong in tannin, with a spicy aroma.

    This all looks amazing!!! Do you have any idea if it’s hard to eat gluten-free in Greece? We want to visit Greece so badly- but I’m afraid of being able to find safe food for us!

      My pleasure, Zenja! And, if we don’t count the large quantities of olive oil pretty much in the entire Mediterranea area, the diet is pretty healthy. (And virgin olive oil is great, I know, but I only recently found out how many calories it has 😐 )

    I love Greek food and reading this I realised that it has been far too many years since I have been to Greece. The tomatoes in Greece, are packed with flavour. and don;t get me started on the feta cheese. Yum!

    Love that list of veggie foods! I took my grandma to Greece recently and she discovered Greek Salad is not what it is in the States…. loved it though!

      I have some Greek roots on my father’s side of the family. Maybe that’s why I always feel at home in Greece and Greek food is kind of like comfort food. So I totally agree, their cuisine is incredible.

    I should have not read this before having breakfast. So many great dishes to choose from, I really wouldn’t know where to start. I’ve always been a fan of Greek food and now I want to try more of these amazing sounding dishes!

    Wow, what a comprehensive list of Greek foods AND drinks. I’m starving now. I love greek lambchops and if I were to visit I’d know that they were called “Paidakia”. So useful for when I read a foreign menu. Thanks!
