Thought to be the oldest fountain in Rome, Fontana di Santa Maria in Trastevere is a gathering spot for both locals and travelers in the evenings. Last, but certainly not least, there is Fontana di Trevi, a must-see for all travelers coming to Rome.

Raised in 1732 by Nicola Salvi, Fontana di Trevi marks the end of the Acqua Vergine aqueduct. It became famous thanks to the many films it was featured in, the most memorable one being La Dolce Vita, where Anita Ekberg bathes in Fontana di Trevi, and the movie Three Coins in a Fountain, which started the tradition of throwing a coin in Fontana di Trevi to return to the Eternal City.
